What is DALI?
DALl is the acronym for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface. DAL is a data transmission protocol specifically designed for lighting control systems, which defines the digital communication method between lighting appliances (driver circuits for lighting fixtures) and system equipment controllers (such as lighting controllers, sensors, etc.)
DALI supports the concept of "open systems" to ensure compatibility between DALI devices produced by different manufacturers. DALI has now become a feature of the IEC 62386 series international standard DALI
Control capability of DALI (single) system
Up to 64 addressable (lighting) drivers on one DALI bus (independent addresses)
Up to 16 lighting groups (group addresses)
Up to 16 lighting scenes (scene preset)
Pre configurable parameters built into typical DALI (lighting) drivers
Independent address and group address specify minimum and maximum brightness values
16 lighting scene presets, dimming rate presets, brightness values when powered on
The extended application capability of DALI system
Real time query of the working status of lamp drivers and even light sources
Up to 64 lighting control panels or sensors can be connected simultaneously to achieve intelligent lighting control
Accessing building automation systems through DALI gateway devices
Realize intelligent control through dedicated controllers or actuators connected to DALI interfaces
The principle of DALI - group control
A driver can set up to 16 lighting groups (group addresses)
Set in advance through configuration tools according to the design requirements
Any driver can be added to or removed from a group
